Overview

DEEKO is a blind-box toy brand that tells the story of characters from an alternate Earth that has been completely destroyed by environmental disasters and global warming. These characters decide to work together to warn other planets like theirs of the dangers and effects of human overconsumption and climate change.

DEEKO TOYS are made using a plant-based and biodegradable resin. By using a 3D resin printer, the amount of waste that is produced is significantly less than that of normal printing methods. Paper packaging, small print runs, and thrifted materials, are all ways that DEEKO TOYS hope to promote eco-conscious and environmentally safe methods.

Objective This creative project is meant to explore the ways in which we can make more environmentally friendly decisions with the products that we buy as consumers. I wanted to understand how we can reduce single-use plastics when buying and making products in order to promote more environmentally friendly methods. Users want to adopt more eco-conscious ways because they want to feel important and help the environment, however they want to uphold their values and continue to buy products they like, so they need companies to give them incentive to buy more eco-friendly products.

This branding project is the capstone project of my Graphic Design BFA program, part of the NEIU Class of 2022 Senior Exhibitions
