Overview
Zombie Taco is Chicago restaurant serving contemporary Mexican food like tacos, burriots, and nachos. I found the name of this restaurant as a unique and fun opportunity to create an interesting brand identity.
Objective
My first every identity design class assignment was to pick a Chicago company to create a brand identity for them and redesign their logo. I picked Zombie Taco because I found it was a good opportunity to challenge myself and create a unique, unconventional design. The original logo is typography only and I knew I wanted to create a illustrated logo that matched the brand of the restaurant.
Revisiting this rebrand years later, I see things I could have done differently, especially surrounding the logo illustration. However, this being my first brand identity project, this creative assignment taught me a lot about the design process.
